Torey Road :: Complete Remodel

Thank you for all of your excellent work on our house. We are happy to provide you with the following comments to share with prospective clients. Our family loves the house!

We engaged CMD Construction for a complete remodel of our house, including a substantial structural addition, at the recommendation of the firm that did our design work. The original bid for the project was highly competitive, and the remodel came in largely within budget, subject to our additional change orders.

Throughout the entire project, the CMD team was a pleasure to work with. In our case, we unable to be on site for long periods, but we were kept well informed on progress through frequent updates. Most importantly, we were pleased by the judgment the work crew made in our absence, so we didn’t feel the need to check in on a daily basis. Change orders, unforeseen structural issues and other changes from the original bid were handled reasonably and professionally.

Overall, we have been extremely pleased with the work of CMD. The quality of the workmanship was excellent. The work crew was highly responsive to our requests and suggestions. They were very willing to work with us on crafting the finish work to our preferences. In addition, they did a good job in following up on any issues or adjustments we requested.

CMD essentially created an entire new home for our family, and we are very pleased with the results. We highly recommend CMD to others considering construction projects, large or small. We absolutely plan to work with them on any future work we have.

Beach Cottage :: Complete Renovation with Addition

Our task was to make the best use of an original 20' x 20' one story cottage. Zoning regulations mandated that we stay within the existing footprint and limited the addition to 60% of the original "livable" space which excluded closets. This was clearly a challenge for the designer who, nevertheless, drew up plans which utilized the allowable space combining form and function.

At her strong suggestion, I interviewed Chris and, finding his philosophy to be in agreement with mine, signed a contract. From the start of demolition to the project completion I did not regret my choice. Chris and his crew were unfailingly prompt, courteous and neat always willing to extend themselves. Chris was anything but an absentee boss, and worked alongside the crew as much as possible. Using his eye for detail and superior finish skills he provided several design features that greatly distinguish this project from others in the area.

Throughout the process Chris was unflappable, accommodating my requests for some late changes and, apart from delays caused by factors beyond his or my control, the project was completed within a reasonable timeframe.

The result of this design/build collaboration is a cottage that is functionally practical and esthetically appealing and, happily, as the designer predicted, there were "no surprises at the end".

You are always welcomed to stop by anytime...just to see the house. We have loved every minute of living in it. It is really a perfect house for us.
